■Introduction to the Business Unit & Role

Lenovo Professional Services is a pool of highly skilled, experienced IT engineering resources that:

・ Improves business solutions for x86 servers, network, and data center services

・Focuses on solving the customer's business problem by architecting, designing, delivering, installing, optimizing, and providing skills transfers for Lenovo solutions & appliances which helps to sell Lenovo servers, storage, switches, appliances as well as other advanced Lenovo services.


【The Lenovo Professional Services Technical Consultant】

・Implements and delivers advanced solution/appliance services around Lenovo products.

・Performs IT optimization studies and recommends strategies

・Operates onsite (includes travels) or remotely 

・Works collaboratively, complementary with hardware sales team, technical sales (presales) team and Business Partners

・Works on a billable basis (customer paid projects)


■A short description to the job role 

The candidate is expected to work effectively in providing technical delivery services in the areas of Lenovo platforms and solutions. This person will be responsible for engagements involving architecture and delivery of solutions around System x servers, ThinkSystems, ThinkAgile, Bladecenter, FlexSystem and appliances involving Virtualization, System Networking, Converged Infrastructure (ie. Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI/S2D, VSAN), Cloud (Azure Stack, VMware etc), Storage (Netapp) and Storage/Data migration Services and so on. The engagements comprises of performance analysis/ tuning Lenovo System x servers including complex and advanced system configurations. The job responsibilites involve setup, Implement and provide knowledge transfer on the mentioned infrastucture and network technologies. Troubleshoot, resolve and advise on complex system, virtualization and network issues. 


Applicant must possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career. Preferably possessing advanced knowledge of x86 servers, Cloud (Azure Stack), Converged Infrastructure, Virtualization, Networking etc, or willingness to learn Emerging technologies mentioned. Should have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and travel to meet delivery timelines.

Requirements◇

Must Have – essential

・Experience on x86 server installation, troublehsooting and performance tuning. Knowledde on CPU/memory/RAID/flash storage/Blade/Data Center technologies/Converged Infrastructure and solutions from IBM/Lenovo/HP/DELL/Cisco UCS etc. (5+ Years)

・Experience on Server Virtualization like Vmware, Hyper-V and KVM.  (5+ Years)

・Experience in Hyper Converged Infrastructure (ie. Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI/S2D, VSAN) appliance implemention and deployment skills (5+ Years)

・Experience in Storage (Netapp Ontap) appliance implementation and deployment skills. Storage and data Migration service skills and knowledge on Netapp Ontap is a key requirement. (5+ Years)

・Knowledge on Hybrid Cloud (Azure Stack, Redhat, Openstack)  (5+ Years)

・Experience in Linux (ie. Suse & RHEL) and Windows (5+ Years)

・Experience in SAP HANA appliance implementaion, design and deployment is a plus (3+ Years)

・System Management related skills, eg. IPMI/SNMP(3+ Years)

・Parallel file system, GPFS is preferred, GlusterFS/Ceph is a plus(3+ Years)

・Basic networking and storage skills(3+ Years)

・Good knowledge of Visio, Excel and PowerPoint(5+ Years)

・Very good hands-on technical skills and problem solving skills(5+ Years)

・Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (5+ Years)
