Description and Requirements

We are hiring a Summer 2023 Intern to join the Infrastructure Systems Group as a Thermal Engineer Intern. The Infrastructure Systems Group is responsible for server design development at Lenovo. 

This role will be based onsite out of our Morrisville, NC location.

You must be currently attending a NC HBCU university to be eligible for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with an engineer and help conduct thermal testing
  • Measuring overall system/server air flow & impedance
  • Evaluation of system fans from different vendors
  • Evaluation of heatsinks from different vendors
  • Running stress on components like CPUs, GPUs, DIMMs etc. and monitoring their temperature

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Ability to relocate or commute to the Morrisville, NC area for duration of internship (June-July 2023)
