Lenovo’s Worldwide Optimization and Personalization team is seeking a UX/UI & Optimization Designer who will support the creation of web experiences and interfaces for Lenovo global websites. This team is responsible for identifying points of friction in the user journey and working to deploy creative solutions in the form of A/B tests and personalization campaigns. This individual will be joining a tight-knit and diverse agile team of project managers, developers, analysts, and QA engineers that deliver exceptional experiences to global customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is someone that brings tremendous curiosity about the digital customer journey and enjoys exploring ways to innovate. The designer must truly enjoy the collaboration process, including the early stages of conceptualization, wireframing & prototyping and high-fidelity design. Everyone talks about a collaborative culture, but we really mean it so this individual will need to enjoy being an active contributor to a fast-paced, innovative team.

We are looking for someone has a design portfolio that demonstrates the use of design to improve user experience, such as simplifying workflows or easing friction in the customer journey. We are looking for someone to apply user-centered design thinking principles and best practices, adhere to design process guidelines, and work closely with cross-functional teams in the understanding and definition of user flows, mockups and prototypes for applications that are intuitive, useful and usable experiences. These skills could be achieved through formal schooling, professional experience or a combination thereof.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Optimization team members and cross-functional eCommerce teams to create highly engaging & innovative designs for A/B tests and personalization campaigns
  • Produce deliverables –user flows, wireframes, visual designs and prototypes – that can be presented both for stakeholder buy-in yet detailed enough for developmental execution
  • Communicate design solutions to project teams, clients, partners and other stakeholders
  • Analyze business, user process, and system workflows
  • Leverage data (both quantitative and qualitative) analysis to inform design deliverables, including Voice of Customer feedback, user research, competitive analyses and UX design best practices

Required Technical / Functional Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI, Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field and/or previous experience in UX/UI Design or related field
  • 2-3 years of professional working experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe XD (primarily used), Adobe Photoshop, Sketch, Invision and/or related design, UX, UI, and prototyping apps
  • Proficiency and ability to define and create engaging UI for Web interfaces
  • Understanding of design systems
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Jira
  • Knowledge of Accessibility principles and web best practices
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience in taking an idea from early concept through all phases of the UX design process. Multiple examples of UI, product design examples are a plus
  • Have understanding of user-centered Design Thinking principles and methodologies
  • Ability to convey and communicate project work to developers, diverse stakeholder group, and product owners
  • Skillset to manage own projects / strong organizational skills
  • Ability to take direction and execute under tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across geographically diverse teams
