Description and Requirements

We are looking for a smart, passionate UX Researcher to conduct usability projects that span a wide range of issues, segments, and website UIs. You’ll work closely with executives, project managers, designers, developers, and business stakeholders to optimize Lenovo’s websites for a wide range of site visitors, from consumers to IT decision-makers. Responsibilities include all aspects of UX research from test design and implementation, to results analysis and reporting. You’ll also educate execs and product teams on customer needs and behaviors, inspire co-workers and teams with your excitement and drive for UI that works, and through your passion, share the delight that comes from  being truly customer-centric.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and conduct UX research across a wide range of website UIs, customer types, and product information 

Provide efficient, timely execution of research projects, using a wide range of tools and methods

Perform competitive analysis, benchmarking, contextual inquiry and other advanced types of usability tests

Contribute UI ideas that simplify and enhance the online experience

Share and evangelize study results within the eComm division and other web-focused teams

Collaborate on training UX team members in UX research tools and techniques

Work on UX research roadmaps that define core research needs and describe the range of studies needed by the websites and product teams


Deep toolkit of and hands-on experience with UX research methods; drive and passion for expanding and growing UX research skills

Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and statistics; equally comfortable with qualitative and quantitative research and data

Experienced in triangulating multiple research and data collection methods to create comprehensive eComm UX results

Ability to take observational data and use it craft deep insights into UI and behavior

Training and hands-on practice in using and applying principles of graphic, web, and UI design

Experience with usability testing platforms such as, dscout, Groupsolver, survey platforms, session-recording tools, and site intercepts

Excel at communicating with product teams and engaging them in UX research

Organizational skills to manage multiple projects with different deadlines and prioritize tasks independently

Adaptability to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

Possess a positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative and energetic team environment

Pro-active in continuing to learn and increase UX research/UI design skills and knowledge

Patience for wading through data

Deeply curious, empathetic and passionate about figuring out why people do what they do

Proficient with Office365, JIRA, Sharepoint


Masters-level graduate work in a Social Science, Information Science, and/or User Experience with at least 1-3 years of industry experience conducting UX research projects, preferably in eCommerce, and collaborating with project managers and UX designers on a daily basis


BA/BS in a Social Science, Information Science, and/or User Experience with minimum 4 years industry experience conducting UX research projects, preferably in eCommerce, and collaborating with project managers and UX designers on a daily basis
