Description and Requirements

About Our Team

We are hiring a Server Rack Validation Engineer with debugging capabilities to work in Lenovo's Cloud Service Provider (CSP) group. CSP is a fast-paced, customer-centric organization that adapts to changing market demands to meet customer needs. 

The Mexico CSP team is a new but key strategic member of Lenovo's vision and technical validation team, supporting and working with cutting-edge companies and technologies, implementing and delivering customized validation services to our customers.


What You'll Do:

  • Work within a team of different levels of experience and technical knowledge.
  • Review design documents (MRD, SPEC, etc.)
  • Identify and implement NUDD
  • Test cases (new, unique, difficult, different)
  • Deliver HW system integration test strategy/plan/cases/report for storage server
  • Effective execution based on a test plan for testing storage nodes, racks and scales.
  • Research technologies for future validation improvements
  • Communicate with the project team and development team to deliver information to the testing team.
  • Plan and control test schedule and test resources (labor, SUT, material parts)
  • Manage and track defect status (debug)
  • Failure analysis of errors found during validation.
  • Identification of the root cause of the problems found during validation.
  • Highlight project risks, critical defects and report testing status to the team and project manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • First cycle university degree or higher
  • 5+ years of directly related hardware design validation/test engineering experience
  • +2 years of experience in validation within technology companies
  • Experience in testing related to servers and/or storage (storage technical knowledge)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Routing and Switching Networking Knowledge (CCNA)
  • Knowledge of scripting in Python and/or Power Shell.
  • Familiarity with Storage/Server Testing Framework, Stability and Performance Testing Methodology, Reliability Testing Methodology and FW Testing Methodology.
  • Knowledge of server hardware from a single node to a rack.
  • How the server is managed
  • Hardware and architecture changes.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think innovatively.
  • You must be motivated, self-directed, flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
