Description and Requirements
Warehouse Operations Manager I -
Location: Whitsett, North Carolina
Function: Global Services Division
Work Schedule: Onsite in Whitsett Monday-Friday. This position requires daily onsite work and does not include hybrid work. We are currently considering candidates who are currently local to the Whitsett, NC area.
Relocation assistance is not currently offered for this position.
Responsibilities:
Directs the development and implementation of activities in warehouse area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding capital expenditures and direct labor as required. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Position will report directly to Sr Manager of Operations.
Key Primary responsibilities are:
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, shipping
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of OHSA, C-TPAT and local/federal transportation governance
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Interacts with peers, clients, suppliers, and transport companies
- Plan work rotation’s, assign tasks appropriately and appraise team results
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
Background Required:
- Proven track record in operations management (6+ years' experience)
- Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (EXE, SAP, Oracle, etc.…)
- Metrics measurements (i.e., delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)
- Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e., Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, ISO, internal 3K initiatives)
- Safety Program compliance (OSHA, DOT, and state and local agencies)
- Proven competencies in (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, MS Office)
- Analytical skills to evaluate, report, select and implement cost-effective, distribution operations.
- Electronics manufacturing background required; EMS experience preferred
- Education: BS or BA degree or equivalent experience in Logistic Operations
- Demonstrated Leadership ability and a proven track record of success to support abilities
- Excellent people skills and the ability to establish an environment that is conducive of continuous improvement, open communication and is free from controversy.
