Workstation / Gaming Development + Service Engineer
Lenovo Workstations provide powerful solutions to drive productivity, innovation, and design excellence in key vertical segments such as Engineering/Architecture/CAD, Media & Entertainment, Science, Medical, Energy, and Finance.
To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are looking to enhance our team with additional talent. This position will lead a key development and service role representing Lenovo’s Workstation and Legion teams delivering high end AI systems to the market. Focus will be on GPU enablement and service in Lenovo’s desktop workstations and gaming products, innovating from initial concept to enabling world-wide manufacturing followed by supporting the worldwide service organization.
What You'll Do:
Pre-Launch Activities:
- Work with Architects on the design/development of new and innovative products and solutions
- Physical HW sample review, and interlock with GEO service
- Product limitation reviews
- Product change documentation reviews
- Communicate with management on status and issues
Post-Launch Activities:
- Manage quality issues from a service delivery perspective
- Graphics driver and FW release management
- Creation of product tips and problem determination trees
- Supplier PCN reviews
- Support US team card/board repair process
Basic Qualifications:
- Engineering Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
- 7+ years of technical experience
- PC development experience
- Technical experience in debugging and problem solving
- Experience in thermal and cooling technologies
- Understanding of PC bios and firmware
- Skilled at using Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with high end desktop, gaming, workstation or server products
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
As a global company, Lenovo has relationships with suppliers and teams throughout the world. This position may require morning/evening meetings which occur outside normal working hours, and candidates must be agreeable to a flexible work schedule.
This position will be working onsite at our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Candidates that are already local to Raleigh, NC are preferred.
