Description and Requirements

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Supervisor of Facility and Building Maintenance to lead our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure the effective functioning of building systems, and maintain a safe and compliant environment. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians and support staff.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Maintenance Operations:
    • Oversee routine maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
    • Ensure all maintenance work is completed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:
    • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly, utilizing technical expertise to identify root causes and implement solutions.
    • Manage emergency maintenance situations effectively to minimize disruptions.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Consumables Management:
    • Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
    • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance services as needed.
    • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
    • Generate regular reports on maintenance operations, project status, and team performance for management review.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, with at least 1 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily based in a facility environment, with regular visits.
  • May require occasional after-hours work for emergencies or project deadlines.
