Description and Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturability is considered early in product development.
  • Lead or facilitate Dfx Development reviews to identify and mitigate design risks related to assembly, process variation, and cost.
  • Apply DfQ tools such as DFMEA, NUDD assessments, and Control Plans to support risk-based design decisions.
  • Identify and track key design-related risks tied to NUDD (New, Unique, Difficult, Different) elements.
  • Ensure design outputs align with process capabilities, yield targets, and customer quality expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional design reviews and feedback loops during key product development milestones.
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturing engineers to validate tooling, tolerances, and design intent.
  • Drive lessons-learned and best-practice sharing across programs to improve future designs.
  • Support process validation, pilot builds, and readiness reviews for production.

 

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5–8 years of experience specifically in server product development, with a strong background in mechanical design, NPI, or DFX engineering within rack-mounted or modular server systems, blade servers, or other data center hardware platforms.
  • Experience supporting projects from early concept through pilot build and mass production.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Solid understanding of DFX principles (DFM, DFA, DFT, DFR) and experience applying DfQ tools such as DFMEA, Control Plans, and NUDD assessments.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, PCB assembly) and their impact on design.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings (GD&T), and using 3D CAD and PLM systems.
  • Effective in cross-functional collaboration with design, quality, supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Skilled at facilitating technical reviews and driving manufacturability decisions.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Able to influence early design decisions and support risk-based evaluations and production readiness.
