Description and Requirements

Responsibilities: 
  • Be responsible for designing, implementing and improving the tax processes/procedures by working with related functions including Accounting, and other supporting functions.
  • Control and monitor tax reporting, including tax forecast and provisions (Income tax + DTA + WHT), and manage the effective tax rate.
  • Overview and administer tax risk for Japan entities to ensure they are fully in line with local tax law and regulations;
  • Manage tax assessments and tax audits by interfacing with external tax authorities, government agencies, as well as company internal functions.
  • Work with a team in providing tax advices to business and other supporting functions on various operational issues including but not limited to the corporate projects, local and cross border transactions, new business models, business reorganization and etc.
  • Work closely with local and global tax team for TP matters for Japan entities.
  • Support on Japan tax projects and other tax related matters.
  • Lead in tracking Japan tax legislation changes and update other supporting functions on applicable regulatory changes that may impact internal processes and systems.
  • Manage the team internal tax training.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor or master degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics or equivalent areas;
  • At least 6 year’s relevant experiences in tax field (substantial experiences gained from Big 4 Firms and MNCs would be a plus);  
  • Strong knowledge on Japan tax law and regulations and good understanding of local practices;
  • Self-driven, results oriented with strong ability to multitask and organize priorities;
  • Excellent planning, analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Registered Public Tax Accountant or CPA or other equivalent qualification is a plus; 
  • Good skills of written and spoken English and Japanese.
