Description and Requirements

In this exciting role, you'll be part of a highly motivated and fast-paced team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position offers you ample opportunities to grow and solve unique client challenges while working on a variety of projects, from firmware refreshes on existing platforms to the development of new customized server offerings.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with worldwide engineering teams to develop BIOS and BMC solutions for customized and general market server platforms designed for use in cloud datacenter environments. You will also work directly with Lenovo’s Datacenter customers throughout the development and qualification of server platforms, ensuring their needs are met every step of the way.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with internal functional teams and customers to define project scope, create detailed project plans, and manage budgets and statements-of-work
  • Driving project execution and reporting status to both internal and external project stakeholders
  • Supporting the firmware development of multiple server platforms in parallel
  • Demonstrating excellent knowledge and experience in BIOS / BMC development from concept to implementation
  • Engaging with customers and providing strong customer support

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years of experience leading technology-based product development projects, preferably related to server firmware development
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of UEFI and BMC development processes
  • Ability to define a project scope and complete a detailed project sizing of resources and materials/NRE/capital investment in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Jira, Agile development processes, WBS, Confluence, and other project management tools
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex technical problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer engagements, engineering task management, and executive updates
  • Ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently

Preferred skills for this role include:

  • Previous experience with cloud datacenter infrastructure
  • Previous customer support experience
  • Experience with AMD and Intel server architectures and product development
  • Solid understanding of BMC and BIOS firmware
