We are hiring a Summer 2025 Intern to join our team as a Storage Hardware Development Intern. This is a lab role based out of Morrisville, NC and will require onsite presence five days per week. The target start date will be Summer 2025.
This position will work with the External Storage Development team within Lenovo's ISG (Infrastructure Solutions Group) Team. In this role you will be working with our Storage Engineers, Project Managers and test teams to set up, test and debug the new systems and learn the Storage Operating systems. You will also interface with many of our Storage partners including NetApp, Brocade, Seagate and Broadcom.
The Storage Development team is a highly technical and energetic team that creates enterprise-grade storage solutions. As an Intern, you will be working closely with system engineers and project managers. You will have the opportunity to connect what you have learned with real-world experience while using your programming, analytical and technical writing skills. Your primary job will be to develop tools and utilities to determine FW versioning, VPD updates, SW repository and process automation for open source compliance. You will also learn about customer proof of concepts and hep with documenting procedures for these POCs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field
- Ability to work onsite five days a week at our Morrisville, NC location
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some programming skills (Python preferred)
- Skilled at documenting processes and best practices
- Some experience in Linux OS and Windows Operating Systems
- Proficiency in Excel or other Microsoft Office tools
- Understand x86 System Architecture
- Experience with setting up Ethernet connects and IO
- Knowledge of other operating systems and VMware / Hypervisors is a plus
- Experience with network cabling installation
- Knowledge of operating system installation
- VMware vCenter experience
