We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Taxonomy/Information Architect Intern to join our team. In this role, you will assist in organizing and structuring data and content to ensure ease of access and usability across various platforms. Your responsibilities will include supporting the development of taxonomies, classification systems, and metadata strategies, as well as assisting with content analysis and information flow optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve user experience and enhance content discovery. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of information architecture and taxonomy development. The role can be based out of Morrisville, NC or fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and refining taxonomies and classification schemes.
- Support the creation and maintenance of metadata standards and guidelines.
- Analyze and organize content for efficient retrieval and navigation.
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure seamless information architecture integration.
- Conduct research and assist in testing information architecture solutions.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in data organization, taxonomy, and user experience.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with content management systems and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
