What You Will Do
A successful candidate will be a person who can help answer the question: How can we be better at what we do?  Do you enjoy engaging data, doing critical internal and competitive analysis, and providing suggestions that drive both efficiencies and solutions. The right person will be someone who likes to learn, wants to innovate and can take ownership in building the BMS, processes and reporting that improve the EDU Segment.

Key Responsibilities include:

Use SQL/R/Python and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or other similar BI tool) to build and automate end to end Worldwide Reporting Business Management System for Lenovo Global Head of Education and other related stakeholders.

Work across team to conduct timely, relevant business analytics (e.g., market share analysis, financial modeling, product portfolio, customer segmentation, supply chain simulation) and present recommendations that drive education growth in key areas.

  • Creating Executive presentations on strategy, financial and operational performance
  • Owning project implementation and execution with global, cross-functional teams
  • Helping to build annual strategic plan and budget development
  • Contribute to improvements in assigned business processes

Who you are:

  • You like to be a critical member of a growing team.  You like to take ownership of your projects and are not afraid to ask questions.  You are not adverse to breaking, where needed, adopting where it makes sense and building something new.  You enjoy working with and presenting to cross-functional teams. 
  • You may not necessarily be an IT person, but you are familiar with the digital landscape, enjoy data and think decisions should be taken based on facts.
  • You must enjoy spending time with numbers, have excel and technology skills. You have basic knowledge about data ETL and relationship model in database. Knowledge about Power BI DAX is a plus. You get things done and inspire your colleagues to do the same.
  • You have experience developing and applying data-driven solutions, and can point to key projects where you have driven measurable outcomes.  You have an entrepreneurial mindset, constantly looking for problems to solve and willing to be accountable for the business’s performance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, your colleagues naturally seek for your support

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or related field
  • 3+ years exp as a data scientist
  • Experienced in SQL/R/Python and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or other similar BI tool)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in data science, data analytics, or related field

This position is based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC.  Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
